Some Good Acting Here
Unlike some of these Coronet treasures, this one has some really good acting and as others have pointed out is a well written well organized script. Nice scenes of an upper middle class neighborhood at mid century - probably post war judging by the size of those trees.
Check out the blocks on the pedals of that tricycle.

Polished production
A very well made 1950's children's instructional film about settling disputes equitably. Excellent script, good acting, directing, and photography.

"What's a Bandersnatch?"
Cute little movie with great scenes teaching young kids about getting along, taking turns etc. We first open with two kids wailing on each other over who should ride the tricycle. (The little girl is obviously winning this fight). Three kids break it up and teach the two kids to compromise, that they need to share the tricycle. Remember that.. we then go to the playground, where a game of baseball is being played. One of the boys goes to bat, and a boy wants to use his glove! But wait! because it's his property, he doesnt have to give it up!! What about compromise? Oh well.
We then go to a classroom (check out those desks with the swivel chairs) where we settle a dispute about two similar looking notebooks, finding out what a 'bandersnatch' is (one kid screams, 'A WHAT?' - My thoughts exactly) and the kids have an election for a playground representative. Check out the results. How the heck could there be 27 kids in that classroom?? HIGHLY reccomended!

Get Along!
Not only is this a great slice of post-war Americana and mores, the principles are very helpful. "Compromise," "Obey the rules," "Find the facts." 50s conformism? I don't think so! Politicians and those convicted of road rage should be required to see this film!
